Anyone have any idea whether someone with a few years of post-jd experience will come in at a higher salary at DA's offices in NYC? Thanks!

At my office (NY County) you will. They pay you based on when you graduated law school, at least for the first 5 years or so.

Oddly enough, we just had the assistant DA for New York county come to talk to my prosecutorial ethics class. I asked him about how often people come in from other counties (I gave the example of someone who started in westchester but really wanted NY county and so cut his teeth out there and then tried to move down). He said that this hardly ever happens. Not sure if that is what you were asking but I thought that I would throw it out there.

I've never heard of an ADA from another NY office going to NY County.

Not talking about lateraling from other county, but about being credited for a few years post-jd experience prior to joining the office. Any idea as to what the rough salary range would be for someone 3-4 years out?

How much would someone 5 years out of law school make, approximately?

Again, I can only speak to NY County, but someone coming from a firm 5 years out would probably make something around 69-70k. It's been a while since they gave raises.
