Switching from Corporate to Litigation?

My experience as a 1L SA was all litigation, and I liked it just fine and got good reviews. But I want to give corporate a try, and when I interviewed with my firm for 2L summer I requested M&A as my preferred practice group. If it turns out that I don't like it, or I am not cut out for corporate work, how easy is it to switch to litigation? And is there any stigma attached to a summer who does so? NYC V20.

Depends on your firm, how the SA program is structured, and how practice group assignments are made

Just say the firm

It definitely happens in both directions, but will depend on the market. A very early lateral also isn't out of the question, as firms often find themselves slightly short entry level manpower and would rather nab somebody who has already been biglaw vetted.
