Maybe you could tell us what kind of international law you do, how you got into it, whether you enjoy it, etc - just to be a little more helpful.

You don't mean that you work in corporate and sometimes do deals involving international clients, do you? I don't think that's what most people have in mind when they think about international law in law school (assuming they have anything in mind at all, beyond some inchoate along the lines of 'international = glamorous, exciting').

I sometimes do "international" litigation -- this doesn't really mean much in my case except that there are parties in another country. It doesn't mean exciting trips abroad, or complex questions of "international law." It does mean service is a bitch and documents have to be translated, which sucks.

Correct. Its not particularly sexy. Mostly has to do with the Hague Convention. Totally corporate lit oriented. I just think its funny that it came up in my first month at a firm after I scorned the very idea of its existence. Although it is kinda fun.

And, I'm at a fairly large firm, we represent multinationals.
