I recently got an offer from a firm 1 that I like in a city that I like. I am waiting to hear from 2 other firms I interviewed with in that market. I have until Mid-October to decided on Firm 1. My callbacks at the 2 firms I am waiting on were 2 and 3 weeks ago, respectively. My top choice is at one of the firms I am waiting to hear back from. Given the length of time since my callback I assume I am rejected/on hold but I was just curious to see at what point should let the firms I am waiting on know about my offer?

I know there are mixed views on pressuring firms to make decisions and I have read a few threads on that. Basically I am just wondering if there is a downside to letting a firm know that I need to make a decision in 3 weeks and if so should I inform the firm about the exact deadline or let them know that I need to decide by mid october. Or should I wait until the deadline is a bit more immediate. Also did people call or email to let a firm know about a deadline.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help. I feel like there is no way I would have gotten an offer at a firm paying market rate in my dream market without this board.

You have until mid October, I would wait until it's been 3 weeks radio-silence from your top choice firm.

OP here: This was 3 weeks at my top choice. I have 3 weeks on my offer to decide so even if I informed them of the deadline there is no real timecrunch for the firm. I am honestly just anxious about my status and want this whole OCI stuff over with.
