Any input would be appreciated.
Alston & Bird is the only firm on the list with an even respectable IP department. But I have heard you will not enjoy yourself there. So...

Elaborate on "not enjoy yourself"?
Also want to hear more about this. I have an offer from their NY office that I'm considering largely due to the personalities I've met there- everyone I've talked to seemed generally happy and relaxed, more so than other firms I'm considering.

Willkie is a transactional powerhouse, much more than litigation (though also impressive). Alston's NY office has both traditional corp finan transactional (much smaller than Willkie's) and IP-litigation, though the IP strength is in other offices.
Both have really friendly people.

So if you want transactional, go Willkie for sure. For IP and tech litigation, maybe Alston.
Last thing.........the SA classes are 39 for Willkie and only 6 for Alston.

Any update on your decision? For the record, Willkie is the clear winner here. (Know a few sr. associates in their securities group)

Accepted the Willkie offer Sept 24, 12 days post-offer. Alston was nice but with SA class of only 8, wasn't comfortable. MB was just a weird nerdsville feeling.

Seems to be quite a few for Willkie; any offers accepted for Alston or Mayer?

Would also like to know if anyone has accepted with these firms; specifically Alston -- I know they have a much smaller class size (I believe 6-8)

Alston was REALLY nice. However, with a class size of only 6-8, they have to make some tough choices. Even more, after that, it's another tought choice by the pplicant whether or not to accept.

Small class size = you're under more scrutiny = increased danger of no-offer at end of SA
