Non legal employment while waiting for bar results
Anyone else have to take non legal employment while waiting for bar results?
If so..............what is the WORST one you had to take and WHY?
-I suspect this may only be a Cooley dilemma, but it would be nice to see a few horror stories to make me feel more average.
LET THE COMPETITION.............BEGIN!

It's not a Cooley dilemma, people from all sorts of schools have to take on non-legal jobs while waiting to get a legal job. Is that what you meant, or did you have a legal job lined up but you can't start until you get your exam results?

Yeah, there are people from much better schools than Cooley that will never work a legal job period.cinephile wrote:It's not a Cooley dilemma, people from all sorts of schools have to take on non-legal jobs while waiting to get a legal job. Re: Non legal employment while waiting for bar results
In school I heard a lot of smoke about how you can hire into firms before you even graduate and lock in the job before sitting the bar, etc, etc.
But yeah, every place that I have applied to has said "we can't hold a seat open, apply when you pass the bar".
I'd be willing to move out of state, but I am not willing to sit 50 bar exams just to have more options either.
I tried applying to paralegal jobs just to get a paid legal job (other than internships) on my resume but they all say "that is not what we are looking for" (mostly since they want crazy fast typists who have a decade experience)
Just kind of sucks.
