Your first problem was assuming 1) that Vault rankings told you the best places to work for and 2) assuming that Vault rankings were a good measure of exit options and compensation.

Also without saying what you want to do, no one can tell you which firm is "best"

2. MVA
3. Womble
4. Parker Poe
5. Nelson Mullins
6. Ogletree
7. Smith Moore
I dont know enough about Wyche and Haynworth to rank them. There is absolutely no question that RBH and MVA share the top two spots though.
Which firms do you have offers at? Youre also missing a lot of the vault firms that have larger offices in NC (A+B,
mcguirewoods, K&L)

This is true. Some of these firms do very different things. Check out chambers for an idea.

Also, Ogletree is a national firm that does labor and employment, so its difficult to stack them up against more general NC/SC firms. But like others have said, you're missing a couple of places that are definitely worth a look.

From what I've gathered, in terms of pure prestige (not including satellites):
Tier 1: RBH/MVA/Womble/Smith Anderson
Tier 2: SML/Brooks Pierce/PPA&B/Poyner/Wyrick
Tier 3: Nelson Mullins/
nexsen pruet
Sound about right? What am I missing?

There have been a few threads about this, but it's usually:
1: RBH/MVA/Smith Anderson
2: Womble/Parker Poe/Brooks Pierce/Wyrick
3: Poyner/Smith Moore/Nelson Mullins
