Need Advice: 3L that didn't summer after 2L

Here's the low down:

-top 20 school in fairly saturated market
-2.9 average gpa for 1L and 2L
-Federal judge extern summer after 1L
-Took year off after 2L, no summer law job (worked with a family member on non-law stuff for the year off)
-Back in school and currently finishing 3L

Now, what are my options? I am interested in transactional work, but really open to anything (not like I have many options): capitol hill, state work, federal work, banks, etc. I am extremely pessimistic right now and would like to hear about some success stories for people that were similarly situated.

Any creative people out there want to suggest a way into getting into a big firm later on down the road, please do. Thanks.

my ignorant 1L (rising 2L?) opinion is that some of your options are going to depend on why you didn't do law--family/mental crisis vs. didn't feel like it/struck out.

edit: just realized anon wasn't totally necessary here, sorry moderators.

You don't really have "options" per se

Follow every lead and do everything in your power that could possibly lead to a job

1) compile a list of places you plan to apply
2) talk to alums of your LS and UG working at those places or similar places to get advice/ins, or any other person on the face of the planet that will give you the time of day and discuss jobs with you
3) apply
4) apply
5) apply
