Include a transcript in mass mailing if grades are bad?

The title pretty much says it all. I know that firms are going to want a transcript at some point but should I attach it in my first-contact email to them or wait for them to request a transcript from me (assuming anyone even responds to my mass mailings lol)?

I think that if you don't attach it they'll just assume your grades are bad.

I never did and my grades were good. I only ever sent resume and cover letter unless they specifically asked for more

+1 In the initial mailing or email you typically just send a resume and cover letter.

of course, this assumes that you put your GPA on your resume. Otherwise, yeah they'll just assume you got bad grades

Yeah, there's really no way to get around the fact that something is going to tip them off that you have bad grades. But no, you generally don't have to send a transcript in your initial massmailing unless they ask for one.

Define bad grades.
