Other threads are reporting same day offers in NY.

How bad is this news if I had my cb a month ago and haven't heard?

I received an offer from LA (Top 10% UCLA/USC). I know that at least 7 people from UCLA/USC have offers. I have accepted another offer, and I'm not sure whether any of the UCLA/USC have accepted yet. I'm sure they're still doing callbacks for other schools, like Stanford.

What was your turnaround time from cb >> offer?

It was less than a week. I know of someone else who heard back in just over a week and another who got an offer quicker than me. With that said, I'm sure they're keeping some people waiting in case they don't get the number of acceptances they expect.

For those of you who received offers last year, care to share your experiences/impressions from the Skadden callback? "Skadden-specific" tips for getting an offer? Callback coming up soon and would love to get an offer.

I got offers from two different offices this cycle. The overall impression I got was that the interviewers much preferred talking about random stuff than actually going through my resume. My callback strategy is a little strange in that I walk in, look around for something I can talk about (a booblehead from a player/team i know well, a themed chessboard, etc), and immediately try to take control of the room and have a conversation rather than an interview. In 7/8 callback interviews my resume only came up tangentially and in passing. I obviously asked about their practices (all my interviews were with attorneys from the 3 practice groups I'm looking at), but that was usually the last 10 minutes or so.

I think just being a real person and having a conversation with them about something goes a long way. If they can have a normal conversation with you, you'll pass the "would I want this person around during an all-nighter" test which I think plays a large roll in callbacks. Obviously, if they really want to go through your resume, don't force the convo away from that. However, I don't see that being the case.
