What's the etiquette of dropping off a resume if you don't have a screener?

Varies by school. Find a rising 3L/recent alum and ask.

I'm in the middle of OCI, but I haven't tried a résumé drop. If I did, I think I would go to the hospitality suite and start talking to attorneys until I found one in my city of choice. I would shoot for a good convo about their practice areas and how it interests me. Above all, I would shoot for a good connection with the attorney. Act like you really learned something from him or her. I might end with, "It was great talking to you. I really regret that I'm not interviewing with your office, but I would love to drop off my résumé."
Eh, something like that. Again, I haven't tried it.
