SA — In • Out • ?

Looking for a 2013 SA headcount on offered, no offered or still awaiting word.
If you are still awaiting word you can return and change your circumstance when you find out. Also, if you are still waiting, what is the timeline your firm has offered (if they did). Feel free to include comments about your SA adventure (including no offered).

This has the potential to be really useful if people vote. I don't get why so few did.

How would this be useful?

Read the title in Heidi Klum's voice.

SHIT: 26% of those who were told have been no offered. Holy shit, this is a melt down. I guess the Weil and Wilmer layoffs were the warning shots.

It would be more immediate than the data that is going to be released next May, both in terms of time and because it is not filtered through whatever offices (i.e. recruiting, career services, and the compilers) help compile the official reports. It would have the potential to confirm or call into question the data that the big associations will release. It would likely offer the opportunity to put some relevant information together with the numbers, e.g. if 20 people were no offered and 5-6 of them chime in to explain the circumstances; or if people take the cue from the OP and discuss cold offers, etc.

Could we clarify whether the no offers are 1Ls or 2Ls? At least for me, I'm only interested in whether 2Ls are being no offered... still pending here.

Dude, you're just assuming that all the offers responses are real "offers" and not cold offers. Could be much worse once you assume the normal cold offer distribution.

Not sure if serious... but now curious what you think the normal cold offer distribution is

You don't think there's a selection bias here?

Holy shit, I didn't even think of this. This is madness.

28% unknown. Wouldn't this be considered high given it is mid-August?

many schools are doing OCI this week and job fairs etc. have already happened (even though 3L spots are limited). it seems kind of crazy that this many people haven't received a decision about their offer status at this point.

I'm still waiting. As far as I know, all of the other summers through out offices in my state have heard. It kinda sucks to be the last one waiting. My positive side to this, however, is that I have four interviews next week with comparable biglaw firms. They also are not through OCI, which I'm hoping was a smart move.
I was told I'd hear by last Friday. Is this one of those wait until you either have an offer to accept or until it's September before checking in?

The number of no offers here seems shockingly high. A third?? What the fuck.
I get it with the self selection but still...

ITE is back with a vengeance. Nobody is even talking about how many firms aren't guaranteeing 160k in their offer letters.

I tend to think that some voters are not being truthful.

For those wondering why there are so many "still waiting," there are some groups that just haven't met. I know I spoke to an associate a few days ago who told me that they just haven't met yet, they are going to meet at the end of this week, and that I'll hear after that. It would have been nice to hear on the last day like some of the other satellite office's SAs, but better late than never!

This thread is not useful at all, and I am a real fan of what DF is doing here. The more useful thread is the 2013 SA Offer thread now that it has been modified to focus on firm and offer rate and is no longer a glorified circle jerk.
