PI/PS Fellowship offerings - Lighter than usual this year?

Perhaps I'm misremembering, but it seems like PSJD (the former PSLawNet) is listing wayyyy fewer post-graduate fellowships this cycle than they have in previous cycles. Worse, many of the fellowships that are listed are nonprofits, etc., hunting for sponsor fellowship money; in other words, getting an offer then means you have to successfully obtain one of the hyper-competitive Skadden/EJW fellowships (not to mention create a project).

Is this an ominous sign for PI/PS hiring this cycle? State and federal governments have already been hit pretty hard by the sequester and related exigencies, but it seems like nonprofits are also suffering from a distinct lack of cash.

Thoughts?

Yep. Many non-profits also rely on federal funding (grants/awards), so the sequester affects them too.
