Thanks, Lit. I think that might be all they are interviewing for. Could be mistaken though.Anonymous User wrote:Congrats, Lit or CorpAnonymous User wrote:Dinged after Cravath cb. Accepted DPW offer.

Thanks for the reply. Lit is actually what I was holding out hope for. I guess the odds are slipping. Still, good to know.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks, Lit. Re: 3L OCI Thread
If I had to guess, they are probably waiting to see how many from the first batch accept. I emailed them a week or so after my cb and mentioned that they were my top choice. Got an offer later that afternoon.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks for the reply. Lit is actually what I was holding out hope for. I guess the odds are slipping. I haven't heard a single thing from DPW since I submitted my resume in mid-August. I even sent a follow-up email.
Does this mean I'm dinged?

I'm in the same position with a different firm but I had a screener. Been two months as well...two follow up emails have been ignored...insane.Anonymous User wrote:I haven't heard a single thing from DPW since I submitted my resume in mid-August. I even sent a follow-up email.

I'm in a somewhat similar position. I believe some of these firms are waiting to check their yields.

You would think a short reply to a follow up wouldn't be too much to ask for, but I guess it is.Anonymous User wrote:I'm in a somewhat similar position. I believe some of these firms are waiting to check their yields.

What yield are you referencing?Anonymous User wrote:I'm in a somewhat similar position. I believe some of these firms are waiting to check their yields.
The number of SAs that accept offers or 3Ls that have been offered but have not yet accepted?
Eh, does it really matter at this point?

Also, is there some way to start a PM group thing? We're all not going to share info here because 3Ls are so rare but would love to exchange some data.Anonymous User wrote:You would think a short reply to a follow up wouldn't be too much to ask for, but I guess it is.Anonymous User wrote:I'm in a somewhat similar position. Re: 3L OCI Thread
I would say both yields matter; however, for the non V20 firms (firms that year-to-year pick up 3Ls), the SA yield is probably more important because those firms aren't recruiting 3Ls at a deep level.Anonymous User wrote:What yield are you referencing?Anonymous User wrote:I'm in a somewhat similar position. I had the best interview of my life with Latham but got dinged because I didn't have an SA.Anonymous User wrote:Haha us 3Ls get treated like such shit.Anonymous User wrote:DPW and Skadden both did this to me.Anonymous User wrote:I haven't heard a single thing from DPW since I submitted my resume in mid-August. If that was their policy, why did they interview you in the first place? To be assholes?Anonymous User wrote:I had the best interview of my life with Latham but got dinged because I didn't have an SA.Anonymous User wrote:Haha us 3Ls get treated like such shit.Anonymous User wrote:DPW and Skadden both did this to me.Anonymous User wrote:I haven't heard a single thing from DPW since I submitted my resume in mid-August. I really don't understand firms and their 3L hiring practices.

Re: 3L OCI Thread
The guy knew what was happening. He could have told me that he liked me but I didn't have an SA so it would be an uphill climb and I would get dinged. Much better than stringing me along and doing the standard SA interview bullshit. I knew my chances were slim but I thought if I hit it out of the park I'd have a chance.chrisbru wrote:I don't know why you are complaining then, no offense.Anonymous User wrote:This was at a lottery OCI. Re: 3L OCI Thread
Again, no offense, but you should know going into lottery interviews that there is basically zero chance you'll get an offer if you didn't do an SA your 2L summer.Anonymous User wrote:The guy knew what was happening. Does anyone even know someone who has been rejected from DPW as a 3L yet

Is it ever a good idea to call the firm if they continue to ignore follow up emails? I've sent two already; I'm thinking a call is warranted if I don't hear anything in another week or two?

It's usually not a good idea to call but if you applied in August and haven't heard back yet...I don't think it can hurt. I'm in the same boat and I think the silence 99.9% means ding.Anonymous User wrote:Is it ever a good idea to call the firm if they continue to ignore follow up emails? True. I'm just confused as to why they just don't respond with a ding email? Clearly they saw the email and ignored it...Anonymous User wrote:It's usually not a good idea to call but if you applied in August and haven't heard back yet...I don't think it can hurt.
