bottom 1/3 lower T14 bidlist

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Jul 16, 2013 8:55 pm

I'm targeting NYC since it's apparently easier.
Here's how I came up with this list:
1. I eliminated the firms with a median GPA 3.33+
2. I chose only NYC
3. I eliminated the firms with a class size under 10.

**the list is not ordered yet, I am just trying to figure out what firms and then later I'll order it**

clifford chance
Dechert

Kramer Levin
Linklaters
Morgan Lewis
Orrick
Paul Hastings
Proskauer
Stroock

But that is so short!

1. Is there anything I should take out?
2. Is there anything I should add?
3. To fill the rest of my bidlist, where should I look? (a) add back the less selective NY firms with lower than 10 class size (b) add some more selective NY firms with very large class sizes (c) add firms from another market

If you only have those bids so far, I'd suggest adding some secondary markets. California, Texas, Illinois, Florida, wherever (but not DC, which tends to be most selective). Find some Delaware firms if you're interested in the mid-Atlantic.

Also, start mass mailing now, if you haven't already.

Don't immediately eliminate all firms with a small class size. Some of the least selective firms have smaller class sizes and you're eliminating possible (albeit small) opportunities. If you have the bids to throw out there, why not include them?
