It varies by firm. check the employer's description on Symplicity. If a firm says MC, LR or Journal preferred, and you don't have it, maybe bid a different firm with the same class rank focus.

Mine is all over the place also... I feel like I could have done nothing else this summer but work on my bidlist and it still wouldn't be very good.

I must have put in a good 20 hours this past week - and I started researching a month ago

I think moot court and journals can help if the interviewer was also on them, or if you are on the border between top 50 and top 33 or top 25 or whatever

So who else is frantically making panicked last minute changes

I considered applying as a 3L but there are so few slots for the lottery that I felt I might as well just email some interviewers for firms I might be interested in when the interviewers are announced. I figure its not much use as a backup to being no-offered since they will want to know if you had an offer anyway. Good luck 2Ls!

Thankfully I was just tinkering with my list a bit and discovered that one of my PDFs uploaded incorrectly, and half of my grades were missing on my transcript. I assume people are doing this, but it might be worth opening all the documents and making sure they formatted correctly upon uploading.

I spent weeks sorting by practice area, likelihood of getting hired, networking contacts, etc.
Put simply, I went for the firms I'd most like to end up and are most likely to hire me.

What purpose would this serve other than bragging? Interviews come out in two weeks and there's nothing you can do to change your list now, can we drop the neuroses until then? Enjoy what little anxiety-free life we have left...

Anxiety free? My anxiety is through the roof whether my bid strategy paid off

agree with anon. people can be curious without bragging.

How'd everyone do? Me first I guess. Barely median, secondary journal, some work experience, 10 interviews (Mostly 3s, some 2s)

Does anyone know how to find out which firms are preselected and which are lottery?

You mean the graveyard? I expected it to be packed ... there were like 6 people, and the poor firm in the back corner had no one the entire 10 minutes I was in there.
