You're not going to get most/any of the firms you have low because they're very popular.

Is there any data available for past bidding trends on firms? How am I supposed to know that X is popular and should be bid high if I want interviews while Y is not popular so it can safely be put in the middle.

I'm guessing that I'm bidding the high-gpa cutoff firms too high then?

Not necessarily. I was referring to some of the high GPA ones like Cleary and Debevoise, which are generally popular. Weil, especially.

I think 1 and 2 look great (though Sullcrom won't happen that low, most likely). Assuming you have a ridiculous GPA, that is.

Day 3 is a bit odd. Freshfields and Linklaters are very popular and will fill way before 7 and 8. It almost feels random after the first 3.

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate your help with this.

I wasn't feeling most of the firms (after my first three bids) on Day 3, so just filled up the rest of the list with places that had big SA classes and high offer rates in no particular order. Admittedly probably not the best bidding strategy.

I'll move Freshfields and Linklaters up since they are popular, though anecdotally I've heard the magic circle stuff isn't doing so hot these days.
