Wondering if anyone knows what companies hire 2L summer associates with a potential permanent offer?

Alcoa, Ford. Alcoa seems to have a preference for local schools.

I've been wondering about this too. For instance, Exxon Mobil is recruiting 2L's at UT.

Have a friend who got a permanent offer from HP. It was IP though.

I did Liberty's summer program last year and worked in the legal department before law school. They rarely hire summers, because they rarely have a need for an entry level attorney. However, when they do it's usually only after someone has passed the bar and is pounding the pavement looking for a job--folks don't graduate with a job lined up their.

HP is doing some 3L OCIs but I'm not sure if they hire "Summer Associates" or just "Legal Interns"

SAs lead to permanent employment. I've seen legal interns get hired after they graduate but it's not common.
