Quoted for when OCS tells you you shouldn't have poastedJurorNumber8 wrote:Long time lurker. May have posted this the other day (not too sure). Anyway, I wish that I had more data when I was applying to firms in order to understand which firms are more or less selective at various schools. I am at uChicago. OCS provided to us this callback data from the last three full years of post-recession OCI (2011, 2010, 2009). It is not complete, and only represents like 35% of big firms. If anyone has similar data from their schools, they should post it as well. I had to estimate our curve, but this should reflect where individuals may still have a shot at a good school. Hope this helps.

Also, Cravath and Williams Connolly each took someone barely above median (178). A few of the firms took individuals with GPAs which were so low, that they had to be at the very lowest in the class (e.g., straight C minuses). It doesn't appear that many of these entries are the same person.
And even besides stuff like IP, diversity, etc. it doesn't really work like this. A lot of firms don't have what your call a cut off.Anonymous User wrote:This stuff hides a lot of the granularity, like how firms go much lower for IP people. Aside from telling people around median to bid Chicago it's not that helpful.
EDIT: That ranking stuff is not wholly useful either. There's a reason they won't tell us the distribution of grades in a given class.
While I agree, I'll say I was the low GPA for a V5 and I'm a K-JD non-diverse applicant.RodneyRuxin wrote:1) Read the last bullet on the second page telling you not to share it.
2) These aren't cutoffs. This is the lowest callback ever accepted in the last three years. If you're a K-JD non-diverse applicant, most of these "cutoffs" don't apply to you.
