Hello TL,
Quick question: which law schools are best for gaining employment in the South?
Here's the situation: ~#1 at a T1 southern regional school after 1L . Looking into a possible transfer applications. However, the goal is to back in a warm climate after graduation. I'm concerned that a T14 transfer would force me to DC, CHI, NY, etc. options after graduation. I also do not have ties to warm climate region (outside of my current school).
Which T14 school would give me the greatest likelihood of Big Law somewhere warm?

Stanford. If you consider California warm.
Or Duke.

So you're #1 at UF? I might just stay there, especially if you're only gonna come out $80k in debt.

I don’t think a T14 would limit you to somewhere cold, it would open up the entire country for you. Firms that hire at my T14 come from everywhere and my class is working in markets from Cali to NY. But if you’re THAT worried, go to Duke. NC is warm March-November.

UT if you want to be in Texas. UVA for the South. But if you're #1 at a T1 regional school and like the region, I'd stay where you are.
