Starting an SA tomorrow at a midsized firm. As the subject suggests, should I bring a laptop with me?

Don't bring it unless they told you to.

No, never heard of or seen that at a work environment. You probably won't need anything, but bringing a pen and maybe a padfolio couldn't hurt (plus any required paperwork you were told to bring - for filling out employment forms, etc.)
