It seems like a weird thing to do to me. Being a PMF finalist isn't like being a Moot Court finalist--it's not something people consider an achievement in and of itself. It's basically like if you were applying to Fried Frank and put on your resume: "White & Case-Callback offered."
Good luck to your SO, though. PMF sounds like a pretty cool program.

Doesn't the funding for PMF finalist hiring come from a different place than generally hiring? If OP is a semi-finalist, all ridicule in this thread is deserved. But if an actual finalist, putting on your resume "you can hire me under alternate avenues that aren't subject to freezes right now and get funding for it" for a federal job seems like a good idea. I don't know that much about PMF but that was my understanding of how it works.
