Has anyone, or knows of anyone who has, attempted to do two 1L internships concurrently?
One is a judicial externship, only have to be in chambers 2x a week. The other, research assistant.
Is 80 hours/week too much?

Are you kidding? Yes, 80 hours a week is too much. 60 hours a week might be doable. Do you have any experience working full-time? And commuting?

I've worked 80 hours/week for a summer before. It's awful, but doable. Keep in mind these were mind numbing no skill jobs. I don't know what it would be like doing legal work.

Doing two 1L internships.

I plan on around 60 hours a week. It sounds like most of your work will be done from your apartment.
Don't overextend yourself, it's better to do great at one job than average at two jobs. If you can do great at two (you know yourself better than randos on the internet) then go for it.

I have same setup as you OP. One paid RA and one unpaid judicial externship. mine is less than full time even w/ both combined though. probably still only 30 hrs/wk with both combined. you would be pretty silly to willingly work 80 hrs/wk during your 1l summer...are you serious?

I did 2 internships my 1L year. MWF at one place, T Th at the other. It amounted to about 50 hours a week all in. Very doable, but I wouldn't work 80 hours...that's just silly when you reallllly dont get that much bang for your buck in the long run.
