I have been offered a full-time externship at the SEC in DC for my 3L fall. I am interested in corporate transactional work but I do have some interest in financial regulatory stuff as well. I would be hoping to work in the SEC's corporations finance division. I already have a 2L SA so I would just be doing this for the experience, training, resume line, connections etc. With living arrangements and the like, it would probably cost me about 7-10k to do. I am trying to assess what the value of doing this program would be. Anyone here done it? If you have done this, what was your experience and how valuable do you think that it was for you?

if you don't mind, when did you apply/interview/get the offer? I'm definitely going to DC in the fall, and just trying to gauge how unlikely an SEC position will be for me...

OP here: I applied in the middle of March, had phone interview the following week and was offered a externship the week after that.
