When I was really young (like 12 years old) I got caught shoplifting a pack of gum, and they called the cops to write a report (yes, I'm serious). I can't remember what I had to do as a result. I think write an essay or something.

I didn't include this in any of my apps, frankly because I really just didn't remember. But now that I am filling out my bar apps, I am worried since I didn't disclose this in my college and law school application.

What should I do? (again, serious question)

Go back, re-read your law school's application, it's usually very specifically worded and the question might not have required your disclosure of the event to give a trustful response. Then go to your school's ethics' counselor. I'm pretty sure every school has some professor designated for this role. Tell him what happened, that you didn't disclose it, and whether he thinks you should file a post-matriculation amendment to your application to disclose it. Depending on the state, you'll almost certainly have to disclose it on the bar, the question is really whether they can ding you for not having disclosed it in the first case or as an amendment on your application.
