how much does a paralegal make at a V15 firm?

Usually a base salary then time and a half overtime. I think it's common for the base salary to be in the 30-50K range but I don't know for sure.

Pretty much, though it depends on city and level of experience. That base estimate is pretty accurate for a new, inexperienced paralegal in New York. You can check out the robert half legal salary guide, seems pretty accurate.

Correction to the above information: the OP said a V15 firm not any firm so it won't be as low as 30k (for the base pay). The base pay at MOST V100 firms (but all V15) is 40,000 a year. That is what the firms "agreed" on and essentially every firm starts at that. You get overtime (time and a half) for any work done over 40hours.

Speaking from recent experience, I can tell you that if you are planning to become a paralegal just understand that there is no guarantee for how much overtime you will make. I had friends doing/billing 70 hours a week (total work) and some who were billing 35 (you don't get paid for lunch and you have to do time entry on all of your hours just like attorneys). So definitely don't assume you'll be making 70k+ over the course of 12 months because that's for people who consistently are working 60+ hours a week.
