TV Show Suits
This questions is based of the TV show suits.... does any know if at big law firms when an attorney makes Partner if they really get to hire their own associate or if associates are only ever hired in groups through summer programs?

At the biggest firms, it all boils down to a hiring committee. At smaller firms, or smaller offices of larger firms, partners do have a huge amount of say.Anonymous User wrote:This questions is based of the TV show suits.... does any know if at big law firms when an attorney makes Partner if they really get to hire their own associate or if associates are only ever hired in groups through summer programs?
All of the equity partners at a firm are the owners and sole decision makers. If individual partners do not get to choose associates for themselves, it's because the partnership as a whole decided that there was a better model to use.
