1L SA is definitely the hardest. The others have varying levels of difficulty.

Where do RA (paid ~$10/hour) and in-house at F500 (paid 20+/hour) fall onto that list?

RA not hard to get if you and the professor get along well and you did OK in their class.
I have no idea about the F500 in-house thing though. I do know my cousin did this from a T2 though, so it can't be impossible.

From my experience:
1L SA
........
.....
...
..
.
COA
USAO (I'd put on same level as DCT, but USAOs usually take on less externs, whereas DCT judges take 2-4 per judge)
DCT
PI
Don't know where RA and In-house fall. Best guess is RA falls inline with PI and In-house falls a little below 1L SA.

What about SEC, DOJ, DOD, other government positions, and NGOs (all of which unpaid)?

Why is this anonymous and what's the point of quibbling over which category of 1L job is most difficult to get?
Spoiler alert: Everyone will disagree and it won't even matter.

This almost sounds like a cover thread for "what is the most prestigious 1L summer job?"
Spoiler: the answer is none of them.

2000 a month for a SA is not market. That's like a PI stipend.

$2000/week, not month
