Florida Clerkship Post-Employment Question

Not sure if this belongs in this thread or judicial clerkships, mods feel free to move if necessary. I will be clerking for a A3 judge in Central Florida (think Orlando, Tampa, Gainesville, Ocala) upon graduation. I SA'd at a V100 firm in NYC/DC.

Does anyone know if Central Florida firms tend to hire area A3 clerks if they haven't SA'd for them? If so, when should I think about sending my materials to these firms? I'm particularly interested in working in Orlando/Tampa, if I don't return to my SA firm post-clerkship.

Thanks in advance for any insight/advice.

I interviewed with a M.D. Fla. judge a few years ago. It looked like his former clerks were split about 50-50 between staying in Florida (generally spread all over the state) and going out-of-state.
