just finished another interview. was told to expect a result in 1 week to 10 days.
the waiting is really killing me, as it is already march and I'm still looking for a 1L job. :?

Can't really be focused on study. How did everyone else manage to go through this ordeal?

Moot court, appellate brief and spring break planning were all exponentially more distracting than the 1L job search.

But then again, I went TT and interned for a judge. YMMV.

Also, why the hell was OP's post anonymous?

be careful OP. I job searched my entire first semester of 2L, and saw my grades just tank. I think its a lot more than just time consuming, there is a psychological factor of waiting and getting your hopes up/down which i feel matters in your overall performance. My advice would just to try to keep your nerves/hopes in check so that you go into studying/finals with a clear head, regardless of whether you got a job or are still looking. if you have a job, you may be tempted to slack. if you are still looking, your attention will be focused on stressing over it

Just sack up. I didn't get a 2L summer job until March and still binked a 4.0 that year. Then I spent the first part of 3L fall looking for a post-grad job and still binked a 4.0 that semester. And no, it wasn't in "Law and ___" classes. Seriously, any time you feel like you can't handle schoolwork on top of other commitments, just tell yourself to sack up.

You're a hiring partner/head of local housing nonprofit/assistant GC in charge of recruiting/etc. You have back-to-back interviews with two 2Ls from the same or similar schools who are potential hires. One had 1L summer jobs with a judge and a firm in town. She has a 3.1 (median). The other had an RAship for 6 weeks and nothing for the other half of the summer. She has a 3.7 (top 10%). Who do you hire?

Eyes on the prize.

Also, don't worry about the nerves...every law student goes through that. You're quite able. Keep your head down and keep pushing.
