I'm looking to get a biglaw job in Florida, and I am curious as to what TLS thinks I should do my 1L summer in order to help make that possible:
1. Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney
2. Federal Magistrate Judge in either West Palm Beach or Miami
I really don't know which one would look better, or if it really doesn't matter as long as I'm in Florida. If that's the case, I would lean towards the State Attorneys office because they only want 20 hours a week, which would be sweet. No chance of splitting.
At MVP, 25%-ile after first semester, born and raised in Florida, and to state school for undergrad.
Thanks in advance!

Do State Atty just in case you strike out and later want to make a play for criminal work.
Firms won't care either way though

My first instinct was to say the judge if you want biglaw, but EVERYONE works for a judge 1L summer. State's Attorney would be way more fun and might give you some cool stories to tell your interviewers. Ultimately it probably doesn't matter too much.
