What is an Ideal law profession employment for you?

I guess what I am asking is:
You graduate Law school, now what?

Corporate? Public Service? Patten?

Basically I have worked for the city government for 8 years and looking to enter law school, but to get a job federally as a prosecutor. Due to my background and experiences, federal government is somewhere I want to work.

Whats your goal out of law school? What ? With who? What state?

My ideal would be tenured law professor. Lots of money to write dumb stuff.

The reality is that I will probably be unemployed.

Also you're not gonna get a job as a federal prosecutor straight out of law school, and chances of becoming a federal prosecutor are so low that going to law school BECAUSE you want to be a federal prosecutor is a bad decision.

No, because the likelihood of the result is extremely low, you should not spend three years of time and six figures of money pursuing that goal if you cannot determine other, more plausible, outcomes that would satisfy you upon graduation. Having a lofty goal is not a problem, but to have no alternative to the lofty goal, or no comprehension of how lofty that goal is, is not just a problem, but entirely foolish.

I don't know where you get the idea that we're young, that we are "kids", or that we are depressed.

I know someone who started as a law librarian at our state supreme court law library last year - she doesn't have an MLS. (But I admit a LS would probably require one.)

I wouldn't want to be a lame ass court librarian. Can't hit on 1Ls at court.

"hey babe, how much do you really need this case?"
