Effect of Softs

So, I have a summer associate pos'n at an NYC V100 firm lined up. I'm on eBoard for one student org and also on a journal. My GPA has gone up since 1L year, and I'll be published in the journal by year's end.
My question is: will it be looked on negatively if I do not pursue higher positions in these organizations (e.g. try to be president of the student org or an editor for the journal)? It feels like this would be a pretty minimal consideration for getting an offer (even less-so than grades), but would it have any bearing?

No, likely no one will care. As long as you have something you're fine.

Most credited response I've ever heard / read on the topic is that if it has no shot of making your firm bio, then it definitely doesn't matter. Being president of the immigration law society or whatever isn't going on your bio.
E-board, might matter a little bit. Probably has a more measurable influence on clerkship prospects and that in turn might matter at some firms if you're litigation focused. Maybe take a look at the bios of the associates and partners at your firm and try and extrapolate.
