Question for attorneys in IP re lateralling

Hello, I currently do IP for a relatively big firm in a secondary market (think midwest), and I'm hoping to move to a bigger city (think LA/SF/NYC). I am thinking of whether I should take an IP job in a big law firm again or if I should go to a boutique. My ultimate goal is to go in-house, just FYI. What do you think? The opinion of anyone with insight into the IP field would be much appreciated. Thanks.

How long've you been doing IP now? If 3 years or more, just go in-house directly. Don't waste time at another regional firm.
