Bar apps: digitized TSA strip searches, but less convenient

Post by stratocophic » Fri Dec 28, 2012 5:38 pm

SOB I have no idea what all of my addresses for the past 5 years are, and I haven't even gotten to the traffic violations yet.

Oh wow, looks like you didn't apply at the beginning of December, a mere 8 months before the exam, huh? Lol too bad asshole, you're "late" - enjoy either sweating as you submit that to your firm or eat the ridiculous additional fee

The answer to your question is yes. Feel better?

You can also try pulling your credit report, which lists your past known addresses on it.

Aw c'mon, this can't possibly be the first thread you've seen that's dedicated solely to whining about something related to law. But since you asked... yes, yes I do.

Good suggestions, unfortunately I don't think credit and amazon will do much good for 2 of them, both were random short-term sublets for internships in undergrad, and both were undocumented. Lol not sure I can even physically *find* one of the places. Suppose I'll have to call and see what the bar org advises

For an apartment I had for like 2 months, I actually found a landmark I used to frequent on Google Maps, clicked my way down to street level, took a virtual "walk" back to the apartment, and zoomed in on the street address on the curb.

This is slightly off topic, but I did not want to create a new post just for the question. If the firm pays for the bar, do students typically pay for it and then submit the receipt to the recruiting coordinator? Is this something worth asking? I feel like I am constantly asking the recruiting coordinator questions... :-/

The worst part is that lawyers are a bunch of scumbags anyway, and damn near nothing will actually get you disqualified.

The app should be "have you even committed a felony that involved stealing, fraud, or cheating?" That's it, one question.

My good fortune isn't lost on me, none of the people I usually roll with have jobs except one. This is a death & taxes situation though, nobody escapes the inconvenience of this BS unless they're fortunate enough to be doing consulting or something after lawl school. CR about the idiocy of the system, ethics class pretty much teaches us we can do just about whatever we want and get off with a 6 month suspension or, gasp, a public shaming. Good thing they take the self-policing so seriously on the front end.

Btw I'm going to have to swipe your methodology for finding addresses v8, it's brilliant.

I'm pretty sure I completely agree with this.

I depends on your state. I know there is one midwest state that has a really early deadline. I wouldn't hurt to go online an double check. You do NOT want to miss the deadline for applications; it usually means at least an extra $100 out of your pocket, and probably more.

Fuck me. It's almost $600 for the Texas bar.
