ND Lawyers - Oil and Gas

Saw an article in NLJ about the shortage of lawyers in ND. Said they need oil and gas attorneys to do mineral leases and title searches. What exactly would that entail doing all day? I don't think title searches are the most exciting this, but the att'y they quote says "they are very complex." Any idea what an oil and gas att'y does?
