I have an interview at the PD office in Philly next week. I've been reading up on what to expect from a PD interview in general, I was hoping somebody would have some specific advice for Philadelphia.

Good luck to anyone else also applying, I hear they are hiring 10 APD.

When/how did they contact you for an interview?

Through email, they asked me to call and set up an interview time. It's a panel interview.

How crucial are Philly ties for Philly PD? I have ties to nowhere, grew up in BFE.

I'm from BFE too, but I have worked in Philly for over a year now.

What's a better topic for a writing sample at the PD's office?

1. A paper on Death Qualified juries
2. An appellate brief on the constitutionality of Megan's Law

I would say the appellate brief, because it's closer to something you might have to do in practice.

That's what I was thinking, but the other sample is higher quality, I think.

Anyone else heard from them about post-3L work?
