Hey all, so I have a fallback offer from Deloitte E-Discovery group. I know a job is a job and I'm in no position to be picky; but if I were to accept this, how transferable will it be? I want to go into commercial litigation and eventually international arbitration.

I'm asking about the possibility of lateraling out from this group.

Also, what EXACTLY is this?

any input is appreciated.

For most firms, "E-Discovery Group" is code for "bringing doc review in-house".

You pretty much stop being a lawyer, and become a glorified in-house Kroll-type person. http://www.kroll.com/

It's pretty much a career cul-de-sac.

Well the e-discovery job would be non-law. I was also looking at this. Do you have stats? School rank/class rank?

Agreed...your chances of doing commercial lit or international arbitration essentially become nil if you take that job.
