How does one go about targeting Corporate law employment? Are there schools that place better into these positions or does it just go along with the typical rankings?

Major corporations use a relatively small number of large law firms which are disproportionately located in NYC and (with slightly less concentration) other major U.S. cities. Such firms are typical "biglaw" firms and hire for 2Ls for the summer between 2L and 3L year then offer full time employment. Those firms hire almost exclusively based on 3 factors: reputation of your school (Schools in the T14 have a massive advantage relative to other schools, but the general rankings are a good proxy for big firm placement), academic / professional credentials (especially 1L grades but also work experience and sometimes undergrad credentials), and performance during on-campus interviews & callback interviews.Anonymous User wrote:How does one go about targeting Corporate law employment?
