I'm sure it happens occasionally. Work as if you know it's a possibility, while tempering your expectations and understanding that you'll probably get nothing more than the paycheck and the resume line out of the work.

I guess. Seems like if they are busy enough to pull you in for several weeks, they might go for it if they like you.

At least two project attorneys for my firm (DC V100) were hired as associates in the past year. Not sure how it happened since I didn't know them at all before they became associates.

I have a friend who may be on this site who landed one for the break. I was asked how the subject of possible permanent employment should be broached. Not sure there is a good answer.
