Maybe city solicitor in a big-but-not-major city? A buddy of mine does this and it seems chill as fuck; pay is about the same as an ADA with far fewer hours, and I imagine the work becomes very, very easy once you get the hang of the limited set of laws you deal with on a daily basis.

My job is totally credited. Too bad PI jobs are in such short supply.

People already covered the big ones. Municipal legal counsel type jobs would be perfect.

Also: low level prosecutor (county or muni). Probably not an easy job to get. But easy as pie once you're in, imo.

Lastly: staff atty for intermediate appellate court judge. 40-80k, 9-5, write short bench briefs on why some convict's appeal is bullshit an they need to stay in the pen.

Oh yeah, that too.

The great part about these jobs is that you don't have to put in long hours if you don't want to. But frequently you do, because they're actually interesting and make you feel like you're doing something relevant.

Actually, you'd write the opinion stating why the convict's appeal is bullshit and they need to stay in the pen, so not always short (defendants are really good at manufacturing issues). But still, definitely a sweet gig if you don't mind doing the exact same thing over and over again every day.
