I know there are many threads but I couldn't find one that answered this. Thanks for letting me know one way or another and for those with snark I appreciate your input as well.

Yes. They'll send a transcript release next semester for you to sign and return.

Any idea how large a role it plays in receiving an offer there?

Diff anon – how common is it for firms to ask for updated transcripts post SA?

It is pretty common for firms to request the transcript, usually just because they want to make sure that you completed the year successfully and didn't screw up. That being said, no one should rest on their laurels because they have an SA for next summer (or even a full-time offer for next year, really). Even if firms generally don't take a grade drop into account when making offers, it has been said on this board by multiple knowledgeable people that grades can matter for lateraling. Or maybe you are no-offered and have to hit the 3L market. You are far from secure because you got an SA offer, so hit the books.
To the OP, I believe someone this year reported in the no offer thread that Latham no-offered him for dropping from top third to top 40-45%. There were a couple of other Latham no offers reported as well. Sure, the no offer for "grade" was probably a pretext, but why give them pretext?

Pretty common. Some firms don't do it, but I'd imagine most do.
