How hard is it to transition into a firm in a larger city if you begin your career at a "BigFirm" (NLJP top 120) in a secondary market?
IE --> Start career at big firm in Columbus OH but would eventually like to work at a larger firm in NY or San Francisco.

If believe the general consensus is that it's very difficult though not impossible. It's significantly easier to move from a large to a small city, so start in NY and move to Columbus. This is very commonly done by associates.

Assuming this is Vorys/Porter or a peer firm,
I have heard of anecdotal stories of it happening, although mainly east coast not west. It will depend on your experience and how you can leverage it.
