I'm considering summering at Sidley Austin New York this upcoming summer. Does anyone know whether they cold offer at all?

Just trying to minimize problems should things not work out...TTRansfer wrote:You're already anticipating not getting a job?
That's not a good way to start out . . .
Wait, are you saying that no firm will no-offer? Is that true?rayiner wrote:Every firm will at least cold-offer people they don't like.
I didn't mean that. I meant that every firm will either no-offer or cold-offer someone they don't like, including firms that give "100% offers."Anonymous User wrote:Wait, are you saying that no firm will no-offer? Oh okay- I saw that Sidley on its NALP forms didn't have 100% offer rates- do you think that means that they no-offer some people and cold-offer others- or that they don't do cold-offers at all?rayiner wrote:I didn't mean that. This is false. I know a summer at my firm who got an offer and is coming back whom nobody liked, even partners. I think some firms just think it's not worth the reputational hit to cold-offer someone, particularly if that person goes to a school that they recruit heavily from.rayiner wrote:I didn't mean that. If they don't like you, they will either cold offer or no offer you. I'm not sure which they would do, or if they no offer some and cold offer others. The best thing to do is to not put yourself in a position to find out.Anonymous User wrote:Oh okay- I saw that Sidley on its NALP forms didn't have 100% offer rates- do you think that means that they no-offer some people and cold-offer others- or that they don't do cold-offers at all?rayiner wrote:I didn't mean that.
