October Offers?

Had 6 callbacks (NYC), 1 rejection, and silence from the rest so far... hoping to hear stories of October offers to lift my spirits. Feeling pretty low right now.

There's been a lot of talks about this in threads, but firms seem to be taking much longer to get back to people. It's probably (1)a result of being more selective and (2) wanting to be extra careful to not over recruit the class.
I had my first offer 3 weeks after waiting.

Last year, I had a callback on October 10th with a NYC V60. I got an offer on October 18th.

I declined an OCI screener* with a V10 back in August and just got an email from them today offering me a phone interview. Seems like that might indicate their yield is lower than normal?
*between bidding on the firms and actually interviewing at OCI, my 1L firm came through with the 2L offer.

When did you apply to these firms and was it mass mail or OCI?

During the past week there have been a surge of offers. I have a couple of median friends with multiple offers, once they decline, those firms will be making more offers. My guess is that October is still in play to be an eventful month.

Bump - I'd also like to know what happened here.

If possible, can you specify firm names using the anon feature? Thanks!

I'm at the point where I am really considering accepting the offer I have now (in an area I wouldn't find horrible, but just not as good as elsewhere) and just reneging if I get a firm I really want. Everyone is taking so damn long and all.
I hate the concept of reneging, but it's my career and future . . .

Baker Botts (NY), SNR Denton (DC)
both from mass mail using ResumeLaunchpad
edit: mass mail was about 2.5 weeks ago. I picked up a couple of other screeners that led to one CB too

I have known several people in that situation. They phoned the bigger/better firm and said they had an offer and were up against a deadline. In most every instance the firm gave them a quick response. . . but they do ask what firm made you the offer (just tell them).
FWIW: Although anecdotal, from what I hear, reneging is not a concept, it is the kiss of death, especially if it is in the same market.

I am the poster you replied to. The firms are in two completely different markets, at least (hence why one pays basically double the other).

Offer on Monday from unexpected callback last Wednesday. October offers do happen, and I know there are a bunch of firms still sifting through applications/callbacks/etc.

Would you mind sharing with us the names of any of these firms?
