When you email a firm to let them know you haven't heard from them but remain interested, is it normal to hear back from the firm or to hear more silence following that?

I heard this, got silence for about a week and a half, and then got an offer. Silence isn't necessarily bad

i called them rather than emailing them. for me, they told me i should hear back within 3 days from when i called them.

6 days later i got an email basically saying i was one their waitlist.

so yeah, silence seems pretty normal, though you should hear from them soon.

any chance that calling increases ur chances (i.e. showing initiative, real interest?)

Did this post call back after the time the recruiter said I would hear. Called her and she said I would hear in the next few days. Got rejection letter two days later DATED THE DAY BEFORE I CALLED.
