Congrats on the OCIJ offer. Has there been any movement with non-OCIJ positions at EOIR? Has anyone had their references checked for OGC, OCAHO, or OLAP?

To those who have offers: did all of you have your status change to "finalist" before you got the offer, or was anyone still at "selected for interview" when they got the call?

Also - are the offers coming by phone or email?

EOIR (OCIJ and OLAP) candidate here.

Status changed to "Selected as Finalist" about 10 days(ish) ago. At least two of my three references were contacted by OCIJ before Thanksgiving. No offer yet.

Just curious - how do you know it was OCIJ who contacted your references and not OLAP?

I don't know what to make of the fact that one person got an OCIJ offer yesterday, but no one else has heard. From what I can tell, there are at least 4-5 of us who are finalists and it seems odd that only 1 would make it unless they made a ton of alternates.

Any thoughts?

So does anyone know if any USTP offers have gone out? Or does anyone at least know of another USTP finalist who hasn't received an offer?

I'm guessing I should give up hope, but the fact that no one's reported an offer makes me think there's still a tiny possibility. Status changed to finalist 2 weeks ago.

EOIR finalist here. Not OCIJ, but it is one of the components you listed. References haven't been checked yet. Seems like non-OCIJ components are a bit slower or the people who are their first choices don't post on here.

It just seemed odd to me that they wouldn't all go out on the same day. Apparently that was wrong because they seem to be getting rolling now. Good luck everyone!

I think it's difficult with those offices because they are only hiring one person and no one wants to out themselves. I am in the same boat as you with one of those offices.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned anything about the BIA. There are 16 interviewees and 4 spots, but no news about checking references or anything.
