I just got an e-mail that my interview is cancelled and will be rescheduled... what a mess!

This will also surely delay everyone getting offers.

Same here. I wonder how soon they'll get us in...really hoping they don't switch us to phone interviews or something like that.

Well this hurricane is affecting the entire week - that's an entire week of interviews aka 1/3rd of the candidates. I think they know it would be unfair for everyone involved to give us phone interviews.

Oh, ugh, how frustrating for you guys! I hope you get it all worked out soon.

(Selfishly, I wonder if this will delay final decisions and offers going out... but obviously that's the least important thing that could happen as a result of a hurricane!)

I would guess that you should assume it will delay things a bit.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm just a worrier. :) I wasn't sure if they were rescheduling the entire week of interviews or just the first day or so, my email only mentioned the day I was interviewing (I realize that the storm is supposed to last for a week though).

Well, I can tell you that I have an interview scheduled for next Friday in DC - and I haven't gotten any notice about rescheduling. So maybe they're only rescheduling the early part of the week.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it's official...fed govt in DC is closed tomm. http://www.opm.gov/status/index.aspx Looks like rescheduling is in order for some folks.

Has anyone that interviewed with an ATR field office had their references contacted yet?

SF seems to have called references before interview selections were announced.

I believe NY contacted references the day after my interview. No DC interview for me. Anyone know if ATR field offices give offers/rejections on the same timetable as everyone else?

I think they're on the same timeline. With the delay in DC interviews, I suppose the earliest we would hear is in 2 weeks.

I was wondering if everyone selected for interview had received rejections from any other components applied to. I thought I saw a post on the Community board on Avue that rejections were supposed to go out mid-October. (Or did this mean for people not selected for any interviews?) I am worried I missed something and I have already traveled to DC for an interview with 1 of the 2 components I applied to. Any insight? I was hoping for closure on the 2nd component, at least if I received a rejection I would know that I didn't lose an invitation. That would be awful! It is so hard to tell since "Selected for Interview" does not indicate how many interviews I should have scheduled on the travel survey.

I'm quite sure if you'd been selected for an interview by the 2nd component, and the invitation went astray, they would have contacted you by now - after all, if they go to the trouble of selecting you for an interview, they want to make sure that interview happens. Plus, the centralized schedulers know how many interviews you have, so would have scheduled you for a second interview even if a notification to you went astray. I suppose it's possible that notifications to you AND to the central schedulers went astray AND no one in the component did anything about it - but that seems way more complicated than the likelihood that you just weren't selected by the second component.

Because everything done through Avue is centralized, I would imagine the rejections they referenced are for people not selected for any interviews - after all, according to Avue, you haven't been rejected; you've been selected for an interview. Avue is kind of a blunt instrument in that respect.

(I did not get an interview with one of the components I selected and I haven't heard anything from them - but I know the notifications went out and I didn't get one, so that's my closure.)

Looks like DOJ is trying to reschedule everyone Monday-Wednesday of next week, so hopefully offers won't be delayed too long.

Antitrust Division called a prior supervisor of mine today. This person was not listed as one of my three references, but I did check the box in the work history part saying he/she could be contacted as a reference. For reasons I can't share, it makes total sense that they would call this particular employer. I haven't heard from any other references or employers about a call this week. I interviewed with HQ sometime during the first two weeks of the 3-week period.

For those of you who have/will interview with EOIR and who have previous intern experience at an immigration court -- did your interviewer/HQ call your prior supervisor at the court? They called mine immediately after my interview on Friday. Didn't know if this is what they normally do or what.

I have externed at two parts of EOIR. I know they didn't contact one, and I don't know if they contacted the other. Did you have the person listed as a reference or marked as someone they could contact or both?

I listed him as both a reference and marked as someone they could contact. As far as I know, neither of my two other references have been contacted. Also of note, I went through the process last year also, and this reference was never contacted (obviously I didn't get the job).
