Obviously there are a lot of variables with each city, but how do the markets generally break down?

1. NY
2. DC

That's about as far as I know...

criteria? weather? COL? # of jerbs? quality of jerbs? mobility?

Obviously I meant for the criteria to include all those factors. And whatever factors people generally value the most. It is somewhat of a subjective question. I can't find any objective rankings.

Precisely the point. I love NY and wouldn't live in DC if you gave me a free apartment and a 10-4 work day.

There's no industry standard for which market has better weather.

If you are looking at markets you should include how difficult the market is to crack. This puts NYC way ahead of any other market simply by the number of jobs. I think the ability to get a job should be the primary concern. But that is just my opinion.

Agreed, you are going to have to give some criteria to consider to rank markets. Hell, even Cooley can make themselves the second best law school in the country with the manipulation of useless "criteria."

Maybe OP meant top 10 LARGEST legal markets in the U.S.

If you can't find objective rankings, then you don't know how to use the internet. There are rankings of cities by number of legal jobs, rankings by cost of living, by median income, by median income for lawyers...

Sorry I am a 0L and will bow out right after I say this, but my favorite rankings are the one that compares the city to how far the base salary is worth using cost of living and using NYC as a base. It's pretty interesting. If anyone can find it again that might be a decent thing for OP to consider.

This is probably what you're referring to, but I don't OP was thinking of anything that cogent.

For all of the reasons stated throughout, this is a terrible idea for a thread.

I mean you didn't even attempt to provide a standard. You could of at least asked which market has the most jobs (NYC), or which market does the most substantial litigation/government related work (DC), or which markets will best allow me to have a high standard of living etc (Texas markets and Atlanta). But you gave absolutely nothing.
