Academia right out of law school

Does this ever happen anymore? Does it only happen for Yalies? I'm assuming that as a white male, lower T14, I have no shot even if I finish in the top 1% of my class, publish a Note and am on the e-board of law review. Is this accurate?

It would be pretty strange to see someone go straight into academia out of law school, without at the very least doing a judicial clerkship. The only situation I could see this as actually being a viable plan is if a person came into law school with a PhD, had already published before law school, and got published during law school (and I mean published articles to good journals, not just a student note to your own school's law review).

That's probably accurate. Only exception I can think of is a teaching position at a non-accredited law school.
